• Showcase various outdoor activities such as fishing, diving, outdoor adventures, 4wding, and exploration. No restriction to topwater footage. 

• The competition is not limited to fishing enthusiasts (fishos). All types of filmmakers and videographers, regardless of their background, are invited to enter. This is a creators contest with a broad scope of participation.

• Utilize both new and previously recorded footage. This includes content from the previous year’s TFI wild card films and YouTube videos.

• Participants are free to shoot anywhere in the world.

• Films must be exactly 10 minutes in length, with a 1-minute allowance on either side (9 to 11 minutes).

• Earn bonus votes by featuring products from the following businesses:

• Each film must include the supplied motion graphic for the video intro and outro to be eligible for the competition.

• Submissions are open from Feb 20th, 2024, to June 22nd, 2024.
• Submit an unlisted YouTube video during this period.

• Your video MUST stay “unlisted” until the voting period is over. If you breach this rule you wont be eligible to win.

• Voting is open from July 1st, 2024, to July 13th, 2024.

• Top 10 winners from 1st round Voting will go head to head from July 21st, 2024, to July 27th, 2024.

Eligibility

All Wildcard film submissions must aspire to win the wild card entry into the BCF-TFI and have the appropriate skills to compete on an Australian and International level.

The winning team with the most votes goes into the BCF Film Invitational 2025 to compete for a share in the $137,500 cash up for grabs as well as , 2x 2024 TFI Pass’s. These TFI Pass’s include VIP invites to our BCF TFI Gold Class screening and TFI winners announcement party.

Everyone is welcome to enter the WILDCARD. No matter if you are just starting out, or have been sponsored and making videos for years. We encourage everyone to enter and have the chance to be in the next BCF TFI. Contestants from previous BCF TFI’s are eligible to enter

1. Entries cannot be withdrawn after June 30th 2024 By submitting your film to the Wildcard Film Comp, you acknowledge this condition of entry and waive your right to withdraw your film from the comp after this date.

2. Each voter will have a chance of winning the lucky draw prizes valued at $5,000

3. Everyone must have an active TFI Membership to view the films, vote for their favourite submissions, and register for the lucky draw prize.

Other

1. Films will be displayed in the same order they are submitted. This may give the early submissions a small advantage.

2. The Film Invitational accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, nor for claims due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise. The Film Invitational have no control over communications networks or services, the internet, or computer or telephone networks or lines and accepts no responsibility for any problems associated with them, whether due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Film Invitational are not liable for any consequences of user error including (without limitation) costs incurred. Entries via email or other electronic transmission are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by The Film Invitational and not at the time of transmission by the entrant.

3. By submitting a film the entrant gives Nomad and The Film Invitational permission to use your footage. This may include future Wildcard promotions, product features and campaigns ect. 

4. Each winner will be notified by email to the nominated email address provided by the entrant. If required by law or other relevant authority, The Film Invitational may publish the name and state of residence of the selected entrant. The Film Invitational will not publish the full address of any entrant.

5. If a prize is unclaimed by the entrant, The Film Invitational reserve the right to award the prize to the next best valid entry as considered by the The Film Invitational team.

6. The Film Invitational and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with Wildcard or accepting or using, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).

7. If due to any reason whatsoever The Film Invitational becomes aware after an entrant has been selected that the entrant has not complied with these terms, that entrant will have no entitlement to participate in BCF TFI, even if The Film Invitational have announced them as participating and that entrant will be required, at the direction of The Film Invitational, to return or forfeit participation.

8. The Film Invitational may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any or all entries from, and prohibit further participation by, any person who tampers with or benefits from any tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the program or acts in violation of these terms, acts in a disruptive manner or acts with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
