Out of Range

Set off up to North Queensland, just off Cairns to one of the seven wonders of the world where phone reception was non existent and got the guide of what the Great Barrier Reef had to offer. Residents Nicko Fewtrall, Minjaia Welham and Evan Ikin showed myself, a videographer with very basic fishing knowledge, how they spend their days scanning the sea floor for wonky holes and targeting some of North Qld’s renowned fish to catch, giant trevally. This is a highlight reel of an anglers paradise, a beautiful part of the world where even if you’re not into fishing a great place to be with an array of islands and sand cays to explore, amazing reefs to snorkel with a backdrop of mountains that light up on sunset.
